DIDs
M-Trust leverages the open DID Standard published by the W3C Consortia to create decentralized identities based on the foundation of the physical link layer. Learn about the DID standard and how M-Trust implements it.
DID - Decentralized Identifier
A DID is a type of identifier that is designed to enable verifiable, self-sovereign digital identities for individuals, organizations, and objects. DIDs are globally unique, persistent, and cryptographically verifiable, and they don't rely on a centralized registry or authority for their creation or maintenance.
At M-Trust, we provide patented technologies to create DIDs based on the foundation of various crypto anchors. The moment a DID is created that way, using properties of the physical entity, we refer to the DID as digital twin.
DID Registry
A DID registry is a fundamental building block in the infrastructure of decentralized identity systems, enabling the creation, resolution, and management of DIDs for a specific DID method while adhering to the rules and processes defined by this DID method.
We utilize existing, well-established DID registries and make it easy to integrate and use the most suitable registry in your solutions.
For the beta, we provide a DID registry based on the Polygon Amoy blockchain. This is a testnet focusing on the development and testing of decentralized applications. We are working on integrating more DID registries in the future.
DID Document
A DID document is a data structure that contains information related to a specific DID. It can be retrieved when resolving a DID, allowing interested parties to learn more about the entity or object associated with that DID. The format and content of DID documents are defined by the DID method associated with the DID, ensuring consistency within a particular DID ecosystem while providing the flexibility to adapt to various use cases. The main purpose of a DID document is to verify and authenticate the DID while providing enhanced information on the DID subject via service endpoints.
To make this easy for you, we provide simple services to interact with your DID documents.
